North of Eagle River Fire Creek empties into Knik Arm near Beach Lake. Park at the Lake and circle left around to shore opposite. Follow sled dog trail (sign posted) to Knik Arm. It is a couple miles in. Allow 45 minutes each way. Bears in area. The mud flats of Knik Arm are extremely dangerous with silt and fast moving tides.

Eagle River as seen from Campground Rapids. The Eagle River Alaska State Parks Campground is just off the Glenn Hwy. Take the Hiland Rd. exit. Painted on a warm 40º degree February day.

Take the New Glenn Hwy. to the Old Glenn Hwy. Road sign for Palmer. (Right before the Knik River.) Park just past the immediate road cut cliffs once exiting the off ramp and onto the Old GlennHwy.

Chickaloon and turn left just before the bridge. This scene was painted from the
stream bank just below the next bridge. The view is south toward the Chugach Mountains above the Matanuska River.

Take Fishhook Road to Hatcher Pass State Park north of Palmer. Right onto the Archangel Valley Road above the Mother Lode Mine. - 4 wheel drive only. about 3 or 4 miles in. Go left and up past the Reed Valley parking lot. Spectacular scenery.
